A good supplier discussion should help you understand capability, quality, delivery, commercial terms, and communication before an order is placed.

Ask whether the supplier has experience with the required product, process, material, and production volume. Confirm which operations are performed in-house and which are outsourced.

For quality, ask about inspection methods, calibration, current certifications, traceability, and available documentation. For delivery, ask about normal lead time, capacity, minimum order quantities, expedited options, and how delays are communicated.

Commercial questions can include quotation validity, payment terms, tooling or setup charges, freight responsibility, packaging, and conditions that could change the quoted price.
